DAAD is represented around the world through its lektors program, regional offices and information centers. In Mexico, the country’s three main university cities – also the largest cities – have visiting lektors: Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara.

DAAD finances the lektors – who in fact are visiting professors in the fields of teaching German as a foreign language, training professors, German affairs, linguistics, the science of translation and other scientific fields – at the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico), the UANL (Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon) and the UDG (University of Guadalajara).

In addition to language teaching at universities, they also provide valuable information on study opportunities, scholarships and scientific exchange in general. Therefore, DAAD lektors are often the first point of contact for students and academics interested in a stay at a higher education institution in Germany, and are thus, a valuable link between Mexican and German universities.
